Summer is Company Bonding Time

As we enter the languid days of summer, it becomes slightly harder to focus on our jobs. Kids need to be shlepped to camp. Colleagues are taking holidays. And clients are harder to reach. One of the most productive, valuable things you can do for company morale is stage an offsite beach or celebration day for employees and their families.

You don’t have to travel far in Orange County to reach our amazing coastline and beaches. You can even work half a day before heading for an afternoon picnic and games on the sand. There are ample beach parks along our coast with expansive lawns, like Salt Creek in Laguna Niguel and Heisler Park in Laguna Beach. Just below are magnificent beaches where you can play in the surf, or stage some beach games like volleyball, horseshoes, Baggo and ladder ball. These can be competitive or just unstructured fun.

And because we’re on the Left Coast, dusk always promises magical sunsets and beautiful skies. If you are so inclined, have dinner at a beach with fire rings, like Newport, Huntington, or Aliso Beach in Laguna. And then join around the bonfire for a tribal, mystical gathering for some S’mores and maybe some drumming?

There are so many ways to relax and grow closer as a company. Taking a beach day in summer for a company retreat is one of the best.
